Acces to documents and protection of personal information

The Québec Commissioner of Lobbying is deemed to be a public body for the purposes of application of the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information   : (R.S.Q., c. A-2.1, s. 3).

However, as a person designated by the National Assembly to an office under its jurisdiction, he is not subject to the obligation to distribute through a website the documents and information made accessible by law that are identified in the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information (ss. 16.1).

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in view of the importance of transparency and access to information for the institution, the Québec Commissioner of Lobbying decided to adopt a distribution policy incorporating and adapting the main provisions of the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information.
