Jean-François Routhier

Commissioner of Lobbying

Mr. Jean-François Routhier was appointed as Commissioner of Lobbying by the National Assembly on October 17, 2017 for a five-year term.

From February 2015 to October 2017, Mr. Routhier was Associated Deputy Minister at the Ministère de la Justice, Direction générale des affaires juridiques et législatives. As Associate Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Routhier directed a large team principally dedicated to the principal functions of Attorney General, Notary General and Legal Advisor of the Gouvernement du Québec.

From March 2007 to February 2015, Mr. Routhier was Director of Legal Affairs at the Autorité des marchés financiers. He began his career in 1996 in private practice as a lawyer and then as a partner in commercial and corporate law.

Mr. Routhier holds a Law degree from Université Laval and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1996.
